Harbors Home Health & Hospice

Harbors Home Health was developed as an organizational effort with Grays Harbor County Health Department in 1980.  The agency was transformed into a non-profit 501(c)(3) with an independent Board of Directors and incorporated in 1981.  This incorporation was given a state certificate of need for both Grays Harbor and Pacific County.  The focus of this program is to provide in home skilled nursing and therapy to those who are homebound.

The agency advanced into Harbors Home Health and Hospice in 1990 and the name changed accordingly.  The Hospice program has guidance and direction of care from our appointed Medical Director.  Support staff include Chaplains and Volunteers as well as our skilled clinical staff. The focus of the program is to provide end of life comfort and support while being cared for at home by the family.    

Our clinical staff consist of Registered Nurses, LPN’s, Nurses Aides, Medical Social Workers and Therapy services, including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy.  Operational departmental staff include; Finance, Informational Technology, Medical Records, Reception, Admissions, and Clinical managers.  This agency has a history of long term employees and several have been with this agency since it was developed in 1980.

The administration of our program was started under the direction of DeLila Thorp RN, BSN who retired in 2011 after 30 years of dedication and service to our community.   Joel Stephens MSW, BSW, has the position of CEO and is dedicated to the mission of providing quality health care and related support services to persons within their homes in a fiscally responsible manner.
