Pediatric care focuses on enhancing the lives of children with complex medical needs and their families, preventing and minimizing suffering, optimizing function and daily activities, and providing opportunities for personal growth and development. Pediatric care can be rehabilitative or supportive, solely palliative in nature, or can be provided concurrently with life-prolonging care.
