Program Changes & Transition
-
➤
What is changing with the We Honor Veterans program?
Beginning March 2026, the We Honor Veterans (WHV) Partner program will become a members-only benefit of the National Alliance for Care at Home (the Alliance). This means all programmatic components of WHV, including portal access, partner recognition and achievement levels, will be available exclusively to Alliance members. All educational materials and resources currently available on the We Honor Veterans website will remain publicly available for community use.
-
➤
Why is the program transitioning to members-only?
In summer 2024, WHV completed its multi-year contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs. As the Alliance takes stewardship of the program, we’re ensuring its sustainability while expanding benefits and support for those committed to veteran-centered care. This transition allows us to provide enhanced resources, mentorship, and recognition to our member partners.
-
➤
When does the transition to members-only take effect?
The transition will take effect in March 2026. Current WHV partners who are not yet Alliance members have time to explore membership options and apply before the change takes effect.
-
➤
Will Partner Networking Calls continue? What is the “Caring for Veterans My Alliance Community”?
Yes! Partner Networking Calls will continue as revamped Office Hours and will take place within the Caring for Veterans My Alliance Community, a networking and collaboration space for all Alliance members who care for veterans or are interested in caring for veterans. This community allows members to connect, share resources, and support each other’s work with veterans, whether they’re participating in the WHV program. Alliance members can join the community now. More details about Office Hours scheduling and topics will be shared in the coming weeks.
-
➤
I’m currently working toward level advancement. Should I complete my submission?
If you’re a Level 4 partner working toward Spring 2026 Level 5 recognition, please submit your materials by January 15, 2026, to receive Level 5 recognition.
For partners at other levels or those who haven’t recently submitted materials, we recommend waiting for the new program to launch in March 2026. This will allow you to start fresh with updated, streamlined requirements rather than investing time in a system that’s sunsetting.
-
➤
I wasn’t aware of these deadlines. Is this new?
Yes, these timelines are part of the program restructuring. To ensure timely programmatic updates for the 2026 WHV program, we’ve established the January 15 deadline for final report submissions under the current structure.
-
➤
What happens to my current level recognition?
Your current level of recognition will remain valid through 2026. When the new program launches in March 2026, all partners will have the ability to apply for 2026 recognition through the updated structure.
-
➤
Will my previous level achievements be transferred to the new program?
We’re still finalizing details about how recognition will work in the new program structure. More information will be shared in the coming weeks.
-
➤
What is happening with Community Partners in the We Honor Veterans program?
Beginning in 2026, WHV programmatic components will become a provider members-only benefit for organizations delivering direct care to veterans. Community Partners with agreements concluding December 31, 2025, will be recognized as Founding Community Partners. All educational materials on the WHV website remain publicly accessible, and we invite Community Partners to explore business partner and sponsorship opportunities. Contact veterans@allianceforcareathome.org for more information.
