With the OASIS changes that move the industry from E1 to E2 being minor in comparison to other years and occurring off the usual schedule, preparation can fall down the list of priorities. The challenges of collecting accurate data have been going on for decades and although technology has provided updated tools, errors continue even in areas where the items and guidance have been essentially unchanged since this all began.

This session will provide an opportunity for both leadership and data collecting clinicians to be ready for E2 while addressing strategies that impact overall OASIS accuracy.

Cindy Krafft PT, MS, HCS-O is an owner of K&K Health Care Solutions based in Florida. She brings 30 years of home health expertise that ranges from direct patient care to operational/management issues as well as a passion for understanding regulations. Years spent in the direct patient environment solidified that this was the optimal setting for the provision of effective and efficient interdisciplinary care as it focuses on functionality and patient centered care delivery. Recognition that providing care in the home environment presents both unique opportunities and challenges is clearly evident in both training and consultation activities.

For the past nearly 20 years, Cindy has been a nationally recognized educator in the areas of documentation, regulation, therapy utilization and OASIS. She has and currently serves on multiple Technical Expert Panels with CMS Contractors working on clinical and payment reforms and bundled payment care initiatives. Her focus is on providing the knowledge and tools critical to the post-acute continuum of care to operationalize external requirements while keeping the driver of care where it needs to be – the needs of each patient being cared for.
