Description
This webinar equips care-at-home providers with the knowledge and tools to show up as advocates for veterans in their communities. Whether that means educating stakeholders, raising awareness about veteran care needs, or engaging policymakers at the local, state, or national level, effective advocacy starts with understanding what it is and how to do it. Participants will explore the distinction between advocacy and lobbying, learn why provider advocacy matters, and walk away with practical steps for identifying and contacting their members of Congress. The session also introduces the WHV Advocacy Toolkit as a resource for planning and documenting advocacy activities.
Learning Outcomes:
1.Describe what advocacy looks like for care-at-home providers serving veterans and explore examples of how organizations are putting it into practice.
2. Explain the difference between advocacy and lobbying.
3. Identify your members of Congress and take practical steps to engage them on veteran care issues.
4. Navigate the WHV Advocacy Toolkit to plan and support advocacy activities.
