Sherl Brand, RN, BSN, Chief Operating Officer

Serving as Chief Operating Officer during the first year of the Alliance meant that Sherl was on the frontlines of building and directing an organization geared at uniting the entire care at home continuum. With a breadth of experience in the home care space, including with a background as an RN, BSN, Sherl is exemplary at utilizing her skill and expertise in the field to advocate on behalf of the entire profession.

Sherl previously earned distinction as a Certified Case Manager and was awarded the Martha Esposito Award in 2013 in recognition of lifetime achievement for extraordinary service and contributions to the home care and hospice industry.  Sherl also takes an active role in the operation of the National Alliance for Care at Home Foundation, previously the National Hospice Foundation, the official philanthropic arm of the Alliance. Under Sherl’s leadership, the Foundation is continuing and expanding key initiatives—investment in key industry research, direct support for care-at-home workers impacted by natural disasters and other emergencies, consumer education through CaringInfo.org, and last wish fulfillment for individuals nearing the end of life.
