Hospice Provider Preview Reports | February 2025 Care Compare Refresh

Hospice Provider Preview Reports for the February 2025 Care Compare refresh are now available in the Certification and Survey Provider Enhanced Reports (CASPER) application. The preview period for this Provider Preview Report is from November 13, 2024, to December 13, 2024.

Hospice quality data included in the reports include Hospice Item Set, CAHPS® Survey Family Caregiver Experience data, and Star Ratings. Preview data is available for the following timeframes:

• Hospice Item Set: Quarter 2 2023 – Quarter 1 2024
• CAHPS® Survey Family Caregiver Experience: Quarter 2 2022 – Quarter 1 2024
• CAHPS® Star Ratings: Quarter 2 2022 – Quarter 1 2024

Providers have 30 days to review their quality measure results and request corrections if necessary. Although the actual “preview period” is 30 days, the reports will continue to be available for another 30 days, or a total of 60 days. CMS encourages providers to download and save their Hospice Provider Preview Reports for future reference, as they will no longer be available in CASPER after December 13, 2024.

Care Compare is a website published by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) that allows members of the public to search for and compare healthcare providers, including hospice agencies. Quality data is collected from hospice claims, patient assessments, and caregiver satisfaction surveys and is publicly reported on a quarterly, biannual, or annual basis. The Alliance reminds hospice providers that a Care Compare refresh is scheduled for November 2024. The preview reports for that refresh were available in August 2024. CMS plans to use the Hospice Quality Reporting Program (HQRP) data for the November refresh to identify hospices eligible for the hospice Special Focus Program (SFP).
