Kristen Wheeler, Executive Director Private Duty Home Care

With over three decades of experience in the healthcare industry, Kristen Wheeler has focused on private duty home care since 2004. Her journey began when she was entrusted with developing a private duty program for a Medicare-certified home care and hospice agency. Recognizing the importance of operational independence in private duty care, Kristen co-founded and co-owned a standalone private duty agency, gaining firsthand insights into the challenges and rewards of the field.

Kristen’s commitment to advancing the private duty sector continued when she transitioned into the association world, beginning with her nearly six-year tenure at the Home Care Association of Florida (HCAF). In early 2022, she joined the National Association for Home Care and Hospice (NAHC), now the National Alliance for Care at Home, as the Executive Director of Home Care, where she continues to elevate the voice of home care providers nationally.
